The Reuter’s live in the heart of the Gateway District and are taking their little girl to the zoo for the first time to see the zoo babies. Because they do not own a car, they decide to take the streetcar up to the zoo. This gives the Reuters a chance to relax on the way up and is simpler and more direct than taking a bus.
