During our interviews we collected diverse opinions from a variety of people around Cincinnati. Many people had similar comments and concerns, we tried to gather those in this collection.
This Interviewee was a member of local government and was adement that the city had more pressing issues to spend the money on. Many other interviewees agreed with him and he was able to articulate his opinions well.
The speaker in this video fails to realize that the funds being used to build the streetcar, namely:
*Tax Increment Financing
*City Capital Funding
*State Transportation Funding
*Regional (OKI) Congestion Mitigation and Air Quality Funding; and
*Federal Transportation Funding
cannot be used to pay the City’s pension obligations or for operating expenses. These are capital funding sources that can only be used for capital projects, and in the case of the federal funding, can only be used for capital rail projects.
